Due to the law on the municipal reorganization of the Rhenish-Westphalian industrial area , Ickten fell to the city of Mülheim an der Ruhr on August 1, 1929. Another part of the area fell to the city of Essen and is now part of the Essen district of Schuir . The thus reduced community of Dreihonnschaften existed for a short time in the Düsseldorf-Mettmann district , but was finally dissolved in October 1929 and incorporated into the city of Kettwig . Kettwig in turn became part of the city of Essen in 1975.
