history

The name circumstance comes from the fact that it was originally about the surrounding farms Berchem, Hattig, Herkendell, Hinninghofen, Lehberg and Schmachtenberg located in the semicircle around Kettwig .

Between around 1757 and 1893 there was a coal mine with the Erbenbank mine .

This belonged to the Reichsabbey of Werden until 1803 , when this area was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss . King Friedrich Wilhelm III. renounced after the peace treaty of Tilsit (1807), so that circumstance fell to the Grand Duchy of Berg . After reorganization of the administration in 1808 circumstance came to the Canton If and after the Congress of Vienna (1815) back to Prussia and was initially 1816 to 1823 the county food in the administrative district of Dusseldorf .

From 1859, this belonged together with Heisingen and Vierhonnschaften to the re-established Essen district. After the city of Essen left the Essen district as a separate urban district in 1873, it was called the Essen district. In 1875 the part near the city was incorporated into the municipality of Kettwig. The other part of the circumstance, together with Ickten and Roßkothen, formed the new rural community of Dreihonnschaften , which belonged to the mayor's office of Kettwig-Land.

From 1927 the mayorships in the Rhine Province became offices . The Kettwig-Land office consisted of the municipality of Dreihonnschaften , to which the fact belonged.

After the district of Essen was dissolved by the municipal reorganization of the Rhenish-Westphalian industrial area in 1929, the municipality of Dreihonnschaften was divided between the cities of Kettwig and Mülheim an der Ruhr , whereby the circumstance fell to Kettwig. The circumstances within Kettwig from August 1, 1929 to December 31, 1974 were affiliated to the Düsseldorf-Mettmann district.

As part of the municipal territorial reform in North Rhine-Westphalia , circumstances within Kettwig were finally incorporated into the city of Essen on January 1, 1975.

From today's perspective, the situation is north of the Kettwig center and east of Meisenburgstrasse. The street Im Teelbruch forms the central north-south axis.
