Vierhonnschaft

Until 1875, Vierhonnschaften was a municipality in what was then the district of Essen in the Prussian Rhine Province . The former municipality is now part of the cities of Essen and Mülheim an der Ruhr .

The community Vierhonnschaften consisted of the four Honnschaften

Bredeney, Schuir and Roßkothen now belong to the city of Essen, while Ickten today belongs to the Menden-Holthausen district of the city of Mülheim an der Ruhr.

history

In the 19th century, several rural communities were formed in the Essen district from the monuments of the former Reichsabbey of Werden . Four honnships between Essen and Kettwig formed the municipality of Vierhonnschaften , which belonged to the mayor's office of Kettwig-Land in the Essen district.

A regional reform was carried out in the mayor offices of Kettwig-Stadt and Kettwig-Land in the Essen district in March 1875:
