Scented wine or Chinese scented wine is a Chinese wine drink made from white wine , possibly sugar , and osmanthus flowers as a flavoring ingredient. The Chinese name of this amber-colored drink is Guihua jiu ( Chinese  桂花 酒 , short 桂 酒  - "Osmanthus wine ") or Guihua chenjiu ( 桂花 陳酒  /  桂花 陈酒 , outdated Kuei Hua Chen Chiew ).

The intensely fragrant flowers of the sweet scented flower ( Osmanthus fragrans ) are used; this is a shrub or small tree from the olive family (Oleaceae) native to East Asia .
