Manfred Dumann

Manfred Dumann (born July 28, 1936 in Ingolstadt ) is a German aviation manager and former member of the Bavarian state parliament ( CSU ).

Life

Dumann learned the trade of a mechanical engineer and became a foreman. He joined the Junge Union and CSU early on. In 1969 he became federal manager of the Junge Union and brought “a modern organizational concept”, “swing and strong colors” to the JU headquarters. Dumann is awarded the authorship for the JU slogan black is beautyful (alluding to the Black Power movement ). His close political friendship with Max Streibl , who brought him to the newly created Bavarian Ministry of the Environment , came from this time . In 1974 he was elected to the Bavarian state parliament, he won a mandate in the next three state elections, but it became quiet around him. Der Spiegel described him as “pale” and “backbencher”, but Dumann was anything but inactive. He only acted more discreetly than many of his party friends: When the position of the deputy MBB boss Sepp Hort became vacant in 1988 , thanks to the help of the MBB supervisory board chairman Streibl Dumann was unexpectedly able to prevail against Strauss friends like Karl Dersch and Holger Pfahls as his successor. Although his position on the board of directors was dropped due to the incorporation of MBB into the EADS Group , he was instead, as managing director of Eurocopter, responsible for maintaining the Group's relations with politics.

In 2001 he took over the management of BEGA Beratungstreuhand-Gesellschaft für Anlage- und Unternehmensberatung mbH, which was founded in 1981, from his wife Frieda, and at the same time became its sole shareholder.

Dumann is Ingolstadt's district chairman of the Bavarian Economic Advisory Council, member of the board of the Slovenian-Bavarian Economic Club and the German-Algerian Society, and Vice-President of the East-West Economic Club of Bavaria. Dumann is also active in the Peutinger College and is honorary chairman of the Eichtstätter European Union . Since 1989 he has been the chairman of the discreet but assertive circle of friends of the Bavarian Army Museum .

As a familial commandery economist, Dumann is the commandery "An Isar, Lech and Donau" of the Teutonic Order .
