Dunja Mijatović
Dunja Mijatović (born September 8, 1964 in Sarajevo ) has been the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media and Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe since 2018.
Life
Mijatović studied at the University of Bologna , the London School of Economics and graduated in 1987 from the University of Sarajevo with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. In 2002, she completed her master's degree in Internet and Freedom of Expression .
The former Director of the Radio, Communications and Regulatory Authority of Bosnia-Herzegovina succeeded Miklós Haraszti as OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in 2010 and was given a second three-year term in March 2013 Term of office appointed as representative.
In addition to her mother tongues, Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian, Mijatović is also fluent in German and English and has a basic knowledge of French and Russian.
Awards
Mijatović received the Charles Medal for European Media 2015, the "Médaille Charlemagne pour les Médias Européens", on April 30th in Aachen in the run-up to the Charlemagne Prize celebrations. Also in 2015 it was awarded the Concordia Prize in the category of freedom of the press and information .
