Concordia Prize
The Concordia Prize is a journalism prize that has been awarded annually by the Concordia Press Club since 1998 for outstanding journalistic achievements for human rights , democracy and, in particular, freedom of the press and information . The award-winning works must have been published in Austria or have a close connection to Austria.
The journalism prize is awarded in two categories, each endowed with 3,650 euros: human rights (donated by Bank Austria ) and freedom of the press (donated by the "non-profit private foundation Dr. Strohmayer "). There is also an undoped honorary award, which is awarded for life's work. The invitation to tender for the Concordia Prize takes place in late autumn - the last day of submission (postmark) is January 31 of the following year.
