Hubert Feichtlbauer
Hubert Feichtlbauer (born February 7, 1932 in Obernberg am Inn , Upper Austria; † September 23, 2017 in Vienna ) was an Austrian journalist and author.
Life
Hubert Feichtlbauer worked as a journalist for the Linzer Volksblatt from 1960 to 1965 , for the Salzburger Nachrichten from 1965 to 1970 , and for the weekly press from 1970 to 1972 . From 1972 to 1978 he wrote for the courier , from 1978 to 1984 he was editor-in-chief of Furche , for which he has since written guest comments.
Feichtlbauer was press officer of the Federal Chamber of Commerce from 1984 to 1992 , and from 1993 to 1995 General Secretary of the Austrian League for the United Nations. From 1979 to 1991 he was chairman of the Association of Catholic Publicists in Austria . From 1998 to 2002 he was chairman of the “ We are Church ” platform .
Feichtlbauer never made a secret of his Christian outlook in his publications. He was a member of the Catholic student union K.Ö.St.V. Kürnberg in the ÖCV and the K.Ö.St.V Rugia Ried in the MKV .

- Feichtlbauer was one of the first Austrian Fulbright scholarship holders.

- 1976 State Prize for journalistic achievements in the interests of intellectual national defense
- 2002 René Marcic Prize of the State of Salzburg
- 2014 Concordia Prize for Lifetime Achievement
- 2015 Journalist of the Year (Lifetime Achievement Award)
- 2016 Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art l. class
