Robert Kriechbaumer

Robert Kriechbaumer (born October 14, 1948 in Wels , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian historian and political scientist .

Life

Robert Kriechbaumer studied history, philosophy, psychology and political science in Salzburg and Munich. In autumn 1969 he went on a study-related stay at the Austrian cultural institute in Rome. After receiving his doctorate in 1973 as Dr. phil. and graduation to Mag. phil. at the University of Salzburg he was Secretary General of the Catholic University Association and the Salzburg University Weeks until 1976 . From 1974 to 2001 he was a teacher at the Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium (Akademiestraße 21) in Salzburg for the subjects history and philosophy / psychology. In 1982 and 1983 he went to study at the Institute for Modern History at the University of Munich and at the Geschwister-Scholl Institute for Political Science at the University of Munich. Since 1978 he has been a member of the examination committee for teaching at secondary schools, special schools and polytechnic courses as well as for the teaching qualification test at elementary schools . In 1982 he completed his habilitation in the subject “Modern Austrian History with special consideration of the history of the Second Republic” at the University of Salzburg. Since 1982 he has been teaching at the Federal Education Academy in Salzburg in the “History” department. At the same time he was managing director of the “Salzburg Commission” until 2005. In 2001 he was appointed as an extraordinary Univ. Professor for Modern Austrian History and LPA Professor for History and Political Education at the Federal Education Academy / University of Education in Salzburg. He has been retired since December 1, 2013, but continued teaching through a teaching assignment until June 30, 2014.
