Elfriede Hammerl (born April 29, 1945 in Prebensdorf , Styria ) is an Austrian journalist and writer living in Gumpoldskirchen near Vienna .

Life

Elfriede Hammerl studied German and theater studies at the University of Vienna and began her journalistic career at New Austria . She wrote and writes columns for various newspapers, periodicals and magazines (including Kurier , stern , profil , Vogue , Cosmopolitan ). She has also written plays, cabaret texts, short stories, scripts and novels.

Elfriede Hammerl was involved in April 1997 as a co-initiator of the Austrian women's referendum, she ran for the 1999 National Council election for the Liberal Forum and was a member of the non-university advisory board of the University of Innsbruck from 2000 to 2002 .
