Dieter Bornemann

Dieter Bornemann (* 17th March 1967 in Graz ) is an Austrian TV - journalist and exchanges -expert, presenter and photographer.

Life

Even during his school days at BORG Eisenerz , Dieter Bornemann wrote local reports as a freelancer for the Kleine Zeitung in Styria . He began his full-time career as a journalist in 1987 with the trade journal Börsenkurier in Vienna . In 1988 he moved to the daily newspaper Die Presse as business editor , and three years later he became head of the finance department of the newly founded monthly magazine New Business .

1992 moved to Bornemann ORF - radio , first as a financial journalist, then as a domestic policy editor. 1995/96 he served as EU - correspondent in Brussels stationed. In 1998 he moved to the ZiB 2 editorial team at ORF television. From 2002 to 2004 moderated Bornemann, the news program ZiB 3 . At the time he is currently deputy head of the economic department, stock market commentator and technology expert. He was selected several times by the expert jury of the industry magazine Der Österreichische Journalist among the top 10 Austrian business journalists.

Bornemann studied journalism and political science at the University of Vienna (without a degree) and was a scholarship holder at the DeWitt Wallace Center for Communications and Journalism at Duke University in North Carolina (USA) in 1999 . In 2010 he completed the Broadcast Journalism course at the New York Film Academy . From October 2011 to October 2013 Bornemann completed an extra-occupational Executive Master's Program at International Media Innovation Management and completed a master's thesis on the subject of multimedia newsrooms . Until 2008 he taught TV reporting, interview and crisis communication at the FH Joanneum for journalism and corporate communication in Graz. Since 2009 he has been a lecturer at the media studies course at the University of Graz and at the journalism institute of the University of Vienna. He also leads panel discussions and gives stock market lectures.

In December 2009 Bornemann was elected to succeed Danielle Spera as the editor's spokesman for Current TV Information. Since November 2012, as chairman of the editorial board, he has been the highest journalist representative at ORF. In this function he fights primarily against the political influence of the parties against the ORF. In 2012 Bornemann accepted the Concordia Prize for freedom of the press for the ZiB editorial team . The ZiB editorial team was awarded the German Web Video Prize 2012 for the protest video he initiated.

With the exhibition New York Moments at the Edition Photo gallery in Vienna, Dieter Bornemann presented a selection of his photographic works to the public for the first time in October 2012. Further international group exhibitions followed.

In July 2017 he succeeded Angelika Ahrens as moderator of the ORF business magazine Eco .

Bornemann has been married since 2002 and lives in Vienna.
