The Dwangwa is a river in Malawi .

It has a length of about 150 kilometers. The river drains the area of the Kasungu National Park in the central highlands of Malawi . It flows into Lake Malawi after the sugar cane growing area of Dwanga Estate , an extensive floodplain of the Dwangwa .

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Bua , Dwangwa, Lilongwe , Lufira , Northern Rukuru , Songwe , and Southern Rukuru rivers together have an annual fishing potential of 15,000 tons . In fact, between 4,000 and 17,000 tons are caught.
