EA Juffali and Brothers ( Arabic شركة إبراهيم الجفالي وإخوانه, DMG Šarikat Ibrāhīm al-Ǧuffālī wa-Iḫwānihi ) is a major Saudi wholesaler founded in 1946.

history

The company was founded in 1946 by the three brothers Ebrahim, Ali and Ahmed Abdullah Juffali and in the early days mainly focused on the business of products for electrical and communications infrastructure and cement. For the modernization of the country and the development of the infrastructure there was a great demand for these products at that time and the company played an important role in the expansion of the electrical network in Jeddah, where the company headquarters are still located today. In 1951, a cooperation with a large foreign company was agreed for the first time, which made Juffali the exclusive sales partner for household appliances from Electrolux and Kelvinator in Saudi Arabia. The first cooperation agreement with a German company was signed with Siemens in 1954 and dealt with the sale of medical technology, communication technology and products for generating electrical energy. Since cooperating with the Daimler-Benz group in 1959, the Juffali Automotive Company has been the exclusive sales company for Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As part of this cooperation, a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Juffali, the National Automobile Industry Company, has been producing Mercedes-Benz trucks in Jeddah for the local market since 1977 . In the service sector, Juffali runs the Saudi National Insurance Company together with Munich Re and the Zurich Insurance Group , which offers insurance services in Saudi Arabia.

Other international partner companies of Juffali are: IBM , Ericsson , Bosch , Dow , DuPont , Michelin , Heidelberger Druckmaschinen , Kärcher , Hitachi , TE Connectivity , Liebherr , Sulzer , Massey Ferguson and the Fluor Corporation .

According to the business newspaper Arabian Business , the Al Juffali family was the twelfth-richest family in the Arab world in 2010, with assets of around 6.2 billion US dollars.
