The E15 or Troncal del Pacífico is a road in Ecuador . The road forms a north-south route along the Pacific coast from the border with Colombia at Mataje via Esmeraldas and Manta to Salinas . The E15 is 741 kilometers long.
Street description
The E15 begins on the border with Colombia near Mataje. On the Colombian side, the road continues as the RN5 to Tumaco . The northwest of Ecuador is sparsely populated and is located in the jungle. The E15 does not run directly by the sea here, but somewhat inland. In San Lorenzo you cross the E10, then the road runs southwest of the town of Esmeraldas and crosses the E20 here. The E15 then runs south along the coast to Manta, where the E30 crosses. Manta is a large city and the E15 runs around the city as a ring road with 2 × 2 lanes. The last part in the province of Santa Elena runs through an arid area and the road ends at Salinas on the E40.
history
The section between Rocafuerte and Manta has been licensed and tolls must therefore be paid on this section . The E15 was of good quality in 2000, except for the part north of Esmeraldas, as it was completely renovated in 2000.
