Street description
The E50 begins on the Peruvian border at Huaquillas, where it connects to the Panamericana to the north. This is the main border crossing between Ecuador and Peru. The road leads east, first through the coastal plain and later through the Andes . In Santa Rosa it crosses the E25, then the road climbs to a maximum of about 2,370 meters in Las Chincas. Then it falls down to Catamayo, then it crosses a second pass at 2650 meters. It then leads to Loja, the largest town on the route, and crosses the E35. Then there is a third pass at an altitude of 2800 meters. Then it goes downhill to Zamora at an altitude of 900 m and then joins the E45, which continues to Nueva Loja.
