Enaire headquarters in Madrid

Enaire is the air traffic control in Spain and the Western Sahara and responsible for the provision of route, approach and airport control services. As a public company, it is affiliated with the Ministry of Public Works (Spanish Ministerio de Hacienda y Función Pública). The company emerged from the Aena , which is responsible for the operation of airports.

Enaire handles flight information and the communication, navigation and surveillance networks necessary for airlines and their aircraft to fly safely and orderly over Spanish airspace. It is the fourth largest air navigation service provider in Europe in terms of air traffic volume with around 2 million flights per year. Enaire manages 2.2 million square kilometers of airspace from 5 air control centers in Barcelona, ​​the Canary Islands, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca and Seville and operates 22 control towers.

Aena owns 51% of the Enaire.
