Kokad is a Hungarian community in the county Derecske in Hajdú-Bihar .
Geographical location
Kokad is located about 20 kilometers southeast of the city of Debrecen , three kilometers from the border with Romania , on the small Bagaméri-ér river . Neighboring communities are Álmosd and Nagyléta . To the east of the municipality is the Álmosd-Kokadi-víztárolo reservoir .
history
The place was mentioned in a document as early as 1219.

Stiff sedge , blackhead sedge , tongue buttercup , marsh fern and white water lilies can be found in the swampy surroundings of the Bagaméri-ér river .
traffic
The road no. 4806 runs through Kokad. The nearest train station is in Létavértes . However, passenger traffic from there to Debrecen was suspended in 2009, so travelers have to take the bus to the train station in Sáránd .
