Álmosd is a Hungarian community in the county Nyíradony in Hajdú-Bihar .
Geographical location
Álmosd is located about 20 kilometers southeast of the city of Debrecen , three kilometers from the border with Romania , on the small river Bagaméri-ér . Neighboring communities are Bagamér and Kokad as well as Șilindru in Romania. The Álmosd-Kokadi-víztárolo reservoir is located between Álmosd and Kokad .
history
The place was mentioned in writing as early as the 13th century. In Hungary it is known as the scene of the first victorious battle in the struggle for freedom under the leadership of István Bocskai in 1604.
