EUKOR Car Carriers
The EUKOR Car Carriers is a South Korean shipping company based in Seoul with a focus on the global transport of cars , trucks and other rolling cargo. Erik Noeklebye is the company's president .
EUKOR operates a fleet of car transporters . The shipping company transports over four million vehicles annually.
EUKOR was created in 2002 from the sale of the car transporter division of Hyundai Merchant Marine . The name EU for Europe and KOR for Korea were put together to represent the owners and their regions. Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors each have a 10% stake. Another 40% are held by Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics and Wallenius Lines . Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors are also important customers of the shipping company.
The shipping company has received several awards for its environmental friendliness, for example with the "greenports Award" given by the Bremenports port company for the most environmentally friendly fleet. After the Morning Linda, which belongs to the EUKOR fleet, had received the “greenport Award” in 2014, the prize in 2016 went to the Morning Lisa . A total of seven EUKOR ships made it into the "Top Ten" of 2015.
In addition to the shipping company's headquarters in Seoul, the company also has offices in South Korea, as well as offices worldwide in Bangkok , Beijing , Shanghai , Tokyo , Mumbai , Dubai , Istanbul , Hamburg , Los Angeles , New Jersey , Santiago and São Paulo .
