Eamonn Martin

Eamonn Martin (born October 9, 1958 in Basildon ) is a former English long-distance runner .

He was u. a. English champion twice in cross country (1984 and 1992), three times in 5000 meters (1988, 1990 and 1991) and twice in 10,000 meters (1989 and 1992). Over the last distance he set a British record in Oslo with 27: 23.06, which lasted ten years.

In 1993 he switched to the marathon distance and was the last male local to win the London Marathon with his personal best of 2:10:50. Two years later he won the Chicago Marathon

Eamonn Martin now works as a test engineer, is married and has three children.
