Earthbend is a German rock band . Earthbend's music is based heavily on the rock greats of the 1960s and 1970s. As the main influences again and again are The Beatles , The Who , Led Zeppelin , Black Sabbath , early Genesis , Pink Floyd , King Crimson or Yes named. Typical Earthbend are progressive rock arrangements in sprawling songs like Harmonia , the ten-minute opener of the album of the same name from 2008. The piece pays homage to the German herb rock band Harmonia .

history

Earthbend was founded in 2002 in Finsterwalde, Brandenburg by André Kunze, Christian Heinrich and Tilo Hustan. The band played their first concert in Octopussy, Berlin-Friedrichshain . The debut album Young Man Afraid (released on February 23, 2007) was released in digipack on Rookie Records , Cologne. Ready to Revolt and Hula Road could be heard on the radio and the band has been touring Germany and neighboring countries ever since. In 2007 Earthbend played around 70 live concerts. The debut album and the successor Harmonia were produced by Kurt Ebelhäuser in Studio45 near Koblenz. The single Too Many Stars from the album Harmonia (released on August 22, 2008) is the soundtrack title of the cinema trailer for the film Jerry Cotton , The Man in the Red Jaguar Returns. Before the release of their debut album, Earthbend played on the club stage at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park . She was support for Josh Homme's side project Eagles of Death Metal at their German shows (2007). Earthbend was also on the road with Blackmail and the Raconteurs , a side project of Jack White of The White Stripes .

At their live concerts in 2008/2009 Earthbend played several concerts with the guitarist Vu Viet Phuong from Finsterwalde. Vu Viet Phuong was also involved in the work on the 2010 album Attack Attack Attack .

In 2012 she played a tour with Scumbucket . The recordings for the fourth album, which was released in January 2013, took place in Studio45 near Koblenz. It was produced again by Kurt Ebelhäuser .
