Eberhard Fromm

Eberhard Fromm (* 1938 ) is a German former university professor for Marxist-Leninist philosophy .

Life

Eberhard Fromm's parents came to Wismar as refugees in 1945 . The boy completed high school in Wismar and Greifswald and then worked in agriculture for a year. 1956–1959 he graduated from the German Institute for Vocational Training in Berlin as a vocational school teacher . He then worked in this profession in Naumburg (Saale) , at the same time taking a distance learning course in philosophy at the Martin Luther University in Halle. His diploma thesis dealt with the ethics of the investigation of moral demands on the teacher personality. This was followed by a position at the Institute for Social Sciences in Berlin. From ethics he switched to the field of history of philosophy. In 1968 he received his doctorate on the subject of "Politics and Morals in Political Ethics", in particular with a description of the history of the GDR philosophy. In 1980 he was appointed professor at the chair for Marxist-Leninist philosophy . After the turning point and the peaceful revolution , the Academy for Social Sciences at the Central Committee of the SED was dissolved and Fromm became unemployed. The Luisenstädtischer Bildungsverein Berlin researched the history of intellectual life in Berlin in the 2000s, especially the situation of intellectuals . The studies he had started on the anatomy of the German intellectual he had to break off because of his poor health.

In addition to extensive publications, Eberhard Fromm has given lectures and lectures in the GDR, the Federal Republic of Germany , the Soviet Union , Czechoslovakia and Greece .

Eberhard Fromm is married to Erika and has two sons. Fromm lives in Berlin-Marzahn and heads the chess section of the BSG BWF Marzahn in the Berlin Chess Association .
