Eberhard Lungershausen

Eberhard Lungershausen (born March 15, 1931 in Halberstadt ; † June 21, 2011 in Erlangen ) was a German psychiatrist .

Career

From 1974 Lungershausen was honorary professor for psychiatry at the University of Ulm and head of the Günzburg district hospital . In 1982 he followed a call to the chair for psychiatry at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . In March 1996 he retired.

The focus of his scientific work was on social and humanities aspects of psychiatry and suicide research. Between 1987 and 1990 he was Vice President and President of the German Society for Psychiatry and Neurology (DGPN) .
