Eberhard Rotter (born July 31, 1954 in Simmerberg ) is a former member of the CSU in the Bavarian state parliament for the constituency of Lindau - Sonthofen .

biography

After Rotter graduated from high school in Lindenberg im Allgäu in 1974 , he studied law at the University of Augsburg . In 1981 he passed the second state examination in law and has since worked as a lawyer in Lindenberg.

In 1973 he joined the Junge Union and the CSU. From 1979 to 1987 he acted as chairman of the JU district association in Lindau, and since 1987 he has been the district chairman of the Lindau CSU. From 1982 to 2002 he was a member of the community council of Weiler-Simmerberg and chairman of the CSU parliamentary group.

Since 1983 he has been a member of the district council of the Lindau district (Lake Constance) .

In October 1990 he was elected as a member of the Bavarian state parliament. He used to be on the committee for cultural policy issues and for federal and European affairs. Since 1994 he has been a member of the Committee for Economy, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, where he is responsible, among other things, for rail transport, public transport , building law issues and the liberal professions. At the CSU, he is head of the housing and urban development work group (since May 2002), deputy chairman of the business and transport work group, and housing and transport policy spokesman for the parliamentary group. He is also a member of the media council. In April 2017, he declared that he would no longer stand for election in the 2018 state elections for reasons of age.

In his constituency in Lindau, Sonthofen , Rotter is a member of the Lake Constance Parliamentary Commission, member of the local Kolping Family , of PRO BAHN , of the Westallgäuer Heimatverein and other associations, lecturer in the parish of St. Blasius in Weiler, and part-time teacher at the technical college for geriatric care of the Bavarian Red Cross in Lindau (1982 to 2003), as well as a member of the supervisory board of the non-profit district housing construction GmbH in Lindau.

He is Roman Catholic , married and has two children. On July 9th, 2009 he was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit.
