Eberhard Strauch (born January 7, 1948 ) is a former German football player .

Career

player

Eberhard Strauch played for SV Meppen until 1972 . Then he moved to Rot-Weiss Essen in the Ruhr area . With the Essenes he played in the Regionalliga West . In his first season he came on two missions, he played in the round two against Borussia Dortmund . At the end of the season, Strauch celebrated the championship with his teammates with a 5 point lead over SC Fortuna Köln . In the subsequent round of promotion, Essen prevailed without defeat - against SV Darmstadt 98 , Röchling Völklingen , VfL Osnabrück and Wacker 04 Berlin - so the promotion to the Bundesliga was perfect. Of the eight promotion games, Strauch played seven. Strauch played for Essen in the Bundesliga for the next four years. On November 27, 1976, during an away game against Eintracht Frankfurt , Strauch injured his knee. The injury was so serious that Strauch had to end his career.

Trainer

After his career as a player, Strauch took over coaching positions at VfL Herzlake and TuS Lingen .
