Hannesried is a district of the municipality of Tiefenbach in the Upper Palatinate district of Cham in Bavaria .

Geographical location

The 50 or so houses in the village of Hannesried are located southwest of Schönau below Kagern at the foot of the 788 m high Buchsberg near State Road 2154 . The hamlet of Hannesried Trath, west of Hannesried, belongs to Hannesried.

history

The village of Hannesried existed before 1270. It belonged to the Schneeberg office, the center of which was Altenschneeberg Castle . In the years from 1270 to 1803 the village changed hands frequently, was at times a Bohemian fiefdom and returned to Bavaria in 1805 through the Treaty of Pressburg . In 1803 Hannesried was sold to the royal Bavarian Lieutenant General Carl Wilhelm Graf von Eckart on Leonberg, whose daughter Katharina Eugenie married the French General Graf Du Moulin. Since then, Hannesried has been part of the rulership of the Counts Du Moulin-Eckart, whose descendants now (2012) live in Winklarn Castle.

Culture and sights

In Hannesried there is a chapel from the 18th century, an eaves-standing hall building with a gable roof , retracted choir and facade tower with an onion dome . It was converted into a war memorial chapel in 1957/58. In addition, Hannesried has a church built in 1956 . This is the starting point of a year at Ascension held procession that goes up from the southern exit of the village initially to the west, then north-west slopes of the mountain book Schönbrunnen source moved to approximately 3 km away. The processional way is decorated with 15 rosary shrines, which were built in 1987. At the Schönbrunnen there is a chapel built in 1746, a gable-independent and vaulted gable roof with a spring on the side of the altar . At this chapel is worship held in the open. On July 14, 1956, a severe storm occurred in Weiding and the surrounding area with floods that destroyed many houses, barns and bridges and also claimed deaths. Since then, every year on July 14th, a procession from Weiding to Schönbrunnen has been held, where people pray for good weather and a good harvest.
