Beaver dam in the Bavarian Schwarzach in Lenkenthal (2013)

Lenkenthal is a district of the municipality of Tiefenbach in the Upper Palatinate district of Cham in Bavaria .

Geographical location

The buildings of the Einöde Lenkenthal are located in the valley of the same name in the Bavarian Schwarzach , which extends east of Schönau between Breitenschlag and Hammermühler Wald in a north-south direction.

history

In 1833 the Lenk family founded the Lenkenthal glass loop and foreman. In 1925 this glass ribbon belonged to Johann Rosnizek. 1969 Lenkenthal is listed as part of the community of Schönau. In 1990 it appears as part of the Weiding parish with 4 Catholics.

nature and landscape

There is no road through Lenkenthal, only a hiking and cycling path. It offers largely untouched nature over a length of approximately 4 km. Several beaver dams accumulate the water of the Bavarian Schwarzach here, which then floods the adjacent meadows and forest, splitting the river into numerous new branches.
