About 20 km further south it flows into the Bavarian Schwarzach between Schönthal and Rötz .

history

In 1270 Irlach was first mentioned in writing as part of the Altenschneeberg office and property of the Siegenhofen family. In 1582 the area was Protestant and Irlach belonged half to the parish of Tiefenbach and the other half to the parish of Hiltersried. Plößhöfe and Bücherlmühle were relocated to Irlach by some distance in 1826 because Irlach was plagued by numerous fires at that time. In 1845 Irlach, which was mentioned with 37 houses and 228 inhabitants, formed a rural community together with the hamlet Plößhöfe and the Einöde Bücherlmühle . As of March 23, 1913 (Easter), Irlach was listed as part of the Tiefenbach parish with 37 houses and 218 inhabitants. When a foot-and-mouth disease caused a milk emergency in 1920, the Irlach people also brought milk in buckets to the milk supply point in Tiefenbach. Irlach owned a chapel and had to give up its bell in 1942. In 1943 it was given a small bell so that it could ring at least in the event of death. Pastor Daiminger, who with his courageous demeanor had saved Tiefenbach from destruction at the end of the Second World War, ensured that in 1950 Irlach received a new church, St. Joseph .

On July 1, 1972 the reorganization of the districts was carried out and Irlach moved with its incorporation to Tiefenbach (until then the district of Waldmünchen ) from the dissolved district of Oberviechtach to the district of Cham . At the same time, the community went on together with others in the community of Tiefenbach. The former municipal area has since been a district of Tiefenbach. On December 31, 1990 Irlach was part of the parish Tiefenbach with 161 inhabitants.
