The Buchsberg is a mountain in the Upper Palatinate Forest . It is located in the municipality of Weiding in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf , Bavaria .
The Buchsberg extends from west-northwest to east-southeast. It has two peaks, one 788 m, the other 789 m, 600 m apart, separated by a 26 m deep saddle.
The village of Weiding lies on the northeast slope of the Buchsberg, and the villages of Kagern and Hannesried on its southeast slope. To the west of the Buchsberg rise the 875 m high Frauenstein with Frauenstein Castle and the 888 m high Signalberg .
The designated geotope Fuchsloch with the identification 376R014 is located on the southern slope of the Buchsberg . It shows cordierite - sillimanite - gneiss .
The Drath and other source streams of the Markbach arise on the southeast slope of the Buchsberg , including the Schönbrunnen spring at the Schönbrunnen chapel.
