The Drath is an approximately 1 km long left tributary of the Markbach in the municipality of Tiefenbach in the district of Cham in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria . It rises in a few small ponds in the Lohwiese southwest of Kagern and flows into the Markbach east of Neumühle.
course
In the Lohwiese on the southeast slope of the Buchsberg there is a series of small ponds. The wire rises from these ponds and flows southwards down the slope. After about 500 meters, it takes an approximately 250-meter-long spring stream from the left at a pond and a 150-meter-long spring stream from the right a few meters further south. The wire continues to flow south. After about 370 meters, she meets the small settlement of Hannesried Trath.
The name of this settlement belonging to Hannesried is given in the Bavaria Atlas as a wire, but the name Trath is on the place name sign. This may be due to the fact that the "t" is spoken like "d" in the Upper Palatinate dialect.
In this settlement the Drath crosses under the road from Hannesried to the Schönbrunn Chapel. The Drath now changes its direction of flow and swings south-east into the Markbach valley. After another 280 meters, it joins the Markbach east of the hamlet of Neumühle.
