Eberhard Viktor Detlof von Schwerin (born June 1, 1894 in Swinoujscie - June 28, 1959 in Essen ) was a German journalist and politician ( NSDAP ).

Life

von Schwerin was a son of the district president Kurt Detloff Graf von Schwerin and his wife Karoline Emilie von Schwerin. He passed the Abitur, then entered the military and took part in the First World War as a soldier . Afterwards he belonged to the security police of Mecklenburg-Schwerin before he was released in 1920 due to his involvement in the Kapp Putsch . This was followed by activities as an employee at the Greifswalder Zeitung and from 1921 at the Pomeranian daily newspaper in Stettin . In 1924 he became head of the internal department at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Zeitungin Essen, 1930 editor-in-chief of the Essen national newspaper . From 1935 he was head of the regional association of Westphalia in the Reich Association of the German Press .

von Schwerin joined the NSDAP in March 1931 (membership number 490.470). From April 1 to July 10, 1933 he was a member of the Prussian State Council for the Rhine Province .
