The Ebracher Hof in Rödelsee

The Ebracher Hof in Lower Franconia Rodelsee in Kitzingen is a former tithe of the Cistercian monastery Ebrach . The facility is located on the Ebracher Hof street in the middle of the village.

history

The establishment of the Ebracher Hof in Rödelsee probably dates back to around 1600. Under the abbot Hieronymus I. Hölein , the monastery started a number of building projects. The old abbey courtyard was probably too small or dilapidated. The Zisterze was only one of the village lords in the small village and therefore had to build its representative building on the edge of Rödelsee away from the other Zehnthöfe.

In 1712 the Zehnthof was completely renovated, with the interior also being adapted to the changing tastes of the time. Abbot Paulus II. Baumann put his coat of arms above the portal of the courtyard after the renovation was completed. The courtyard was renovated again in 1752, an inscription attests to this year. After the dissolution of Zisterze Ebrach the house came into private hands. Several apartments were set up in the building in the 1930s.

description

The Zehnthof is a two-story plastered building. It is equipped with rich volute gables , which are divided by two transverse cornices. The windows are partly made in two lanes and have profiled walls. The top floor is only illuminated by a few shed dormers, while an oval ox-eye illuminates the gable end . On the upper floor there are some stucco ceilings from 1712.

Several portals can be traced back to the conversion to an apartment building, as the Zehnthof originally had a simple double portal. In 1712 one of the portals was renewed. The frame has been richly profiled and drilled , simple diamond-shaped bosses lead to a staircase. The gable is blown and shows the coat of arms of Paulus II Baumann and that of the Cistercians, crowned by an angel. The portal ends with shellwork .
