Rebutia fiebrigii is a species of plant in the genus Rebutia from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet honors the German biologist and director of the Botanical Garden and Museum in Asunción, Karl August Gustav Fiebrig (1869–1951).

Rebutia fiebrigii grows singly and only occasionally sprouting with spherical to short cylindrical, shiny green bodies. The bodies reach heights of growth of up to 6 centimeters and have fiber roots. The approximately 18 ribs are clearly divided into cusps. The elliptical areoles on it are white. The approximately 30 to 50 more or less white to light brown or occasionally yellowish thorns can hardly be distinguished into central and radial spines. They are bristle-like, although some of them can be a bit stronger, protruding, needle-like and up to 2 centimeters long.

The yellow to orange flowers appear on the lower half of the body and are up to 3.5 centimeters long. The small fruits are more or less purple in color.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Rebutia fiebrigii is distributed in the south of Bolivia in the departments of Chuquisaca , Santa Cruz and Tarija and in the north of Argentina in the provinces of Salta and Jujuy at altitudes of 1400 to 3600 meters.

The first description as Echinocactus fiebrigii was published in 1905 by Robert Louis August Maximilian Gürke . Nathaniel Lord Britton and Joseph Nelson Rose placed them in the genus Rebutia in 1916 . Synonyms are Aylostera fiebrigii (Gürke) Backeb. and Echinorebutia fiebrigii ( gherkin ) Frič .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
