Ed Moses (born June 7, 1980 in Loma Linda , California ) is an American breaststroke swimmer who won gold and silver at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney .

Career

On the way to the 2000 Olympics, Moses set a new American record at the Olympiatrials. At the NCAA Championships 2000, he swam on the short course for the University of Virginia and won the 100 and 200 m breasts in record times . He graduated from the University of Virginia in Sports Medicine in 2005 . He was also a voluntary assistant coach at the university during his student days.

On January 23, 2002 in Stockholm he improved his short course world records over the 100 and 200 m chest distance and also set a new record over 50 m chest. In January 2004 in Berlin , Moses succeeded once again in improving his own world record over the 200 m chest. Ed Moses also managed to set world records in the 50 and 100 m chest distance on the long track, namely in Austin in 2001 .
