Eddy Ratti

Eddy Ratti (born April 4, 1977 in Codogno ) is an Italian racing cyclist .

Eddy Ratti began his career in 2000 with the Mapei-Quick Step cycling team . He celebrated his first success in 2002 on the Regio Tour , where he won the time trial. Shortly afterwards he decided the Italian one-day race Tre Valli Varesine for himself. He then switched to Lampre , where he was unsuccessful and went to Flanders-Afin.com in 2004 . In 2005 Ratti drove for the Japanese Continental Team Nippo , where he finished fourth in the Trofeo Matteotti and won the Hokkaido Tour . Since 2006 he has been driving for the Italian Professional Continental Team Naturino-Sapore di Mare . Among other things , he finished fifth in the Bayern Tour , second in the Circuit de Lorraine , third in the Giro dell'Appennino and also third in the Giro del Trentino . He also won a stage in the Settimana Ciclistica Lombarda .

After a doping test on January 21, 2010, the blood doping agent EPO was detected at Ratti . He was then provisionally suspended by the UCI on February 13 and banned by a sports court for two years in June .

He was also fined 8,000 euros for violating the Italian anti-doping law. He took legal action against this and was acquitted by the Lodi court in November 2014 for lack of evidence.
