Edwin "Eddy" Steinblock , called The Big German (born December 16, 1955 in Bremen ; † November 8, 2017 ) was a German wrestler and actor .

biography

Steinblock began a career as a wrestler (catcher) in 1982 under the name "The Big German" in the German wrestling league CWA (Catch Wrestling Association), which no longer exists . He appeared until the end under this name in various wrestling leagues such as NWA, EPF and EPW . He was known to many as Pimp Jupp , especially from the German comedy film Voll normaaal . He also played in the 1985 film André creates them all , in which he starred as Robbie alongside Franco Nero ( Django ) and Ingrid Steeger . He was also a guest on various talk shows .

In the comedy Die Superbullen from 2011, for which Tom Gerhardt co-wrote the script, Eddy Steinblock appeared again after 16 years as Proll Jupp, in which he again clashed with Tommie and Mario in some scenes.

Most recently (2011) he lived in Wilstedt in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district .

In the broadcast on September 17, 2011, Eddy Steinblock was featured in the comedy television series Kaya Yanar & Paul Panzer - Stars at Work in a longer feature. In it Paul Panzer attended a wrestling event and met Eddy there with some other wrestling colleagues to participate in several sequences such as B. in the locker room, in the ring or like at a mock press conference to fool around and make jokes.

Two days before he wanted to step into the ring one last time after 30 years, Eddy Steinblock died of unknown reasons.
