history

The eDIT Filmmaker's Festival has been held annually in Frankfurt am Main since 1998. It was launched as an international specialist congress for post-production and visual effects and has since developed into a festival conference of its own, which deals extensively with the development of film production in the digital age. The festival is the only one in Europe that deals with the subject in detail without pursuing commercial intentions, such as trade fairs.

The festival is organized by the State of Hesse, the State Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media in Hesse (LPR) and the City of Frankfurt am Main under the patronage of the Hessian Minister for Science and Art. The festival has been cooperating with the international associations ACE (American Cinema Editors - film editing) and IMAGO (European Camera Association) since 2007. The festival has also been cooperating with MPSE (Motion Picture Sound Editors) since 2010. The agency Luna Park 64 Media Concepts Projects GmbH looks after the festival as general contractor for program, event organization, communication, media and public relations.
