Edith Golinski (born December 11, 1912 in Preetz , † June 18, 1985 in Kiel ) was a Kiel poet and fairy tale author .

Life

Edith Golinski was born on December 11, 1912 in Preetz as the daughter of an artist. At the age of 6, she developed lymphatic tuberculosis . As a result, she retained curvature of the joints and visual damage. At the age of seven and a half, Edith Golinski started school in Kiel at Königsweg 80 in 1920. She wanted to become a painter, but her eyesight , which had deteriorated after a temporary improvement , led her to the word design. Because of her multiple disabilities , she lived mostly in nursing homes. Her first published fairy tale Why the sparrows stay here in winter appeared on November 19, 1932 in a Kiel newspaper. She later became a member of the Schleswig-Holstein Writers' Association, gave readings and wrote fairy tales, aphorisms and poems. She was also a member of the Interest Group of German-Speaking Authors (IGdA), the Regensburger Writers' Group International and in the Eutiner Circle, as well as a corresponding member of the Federal Association of German Writers and Doctors (BDSÄ).

Their first publication was followed by others, some of which were also broadcast on the radio (Hamburg, Hanover, Bremen). She published her first book publications, Märchen aus Feld und Wald (1955) and The Living Mirror (1956). Further works are the autobiographical Blick nachinnen (1963) and Die Sternseele (1969), another volume with art fairy tales for adults. With Die Blätter mir der Wind (1975), Golinski presented another short novel before she began to turn to smaller forms in old age, as her subsequent volumes of poetry show, such as Ansia or die Sehnsucht (1979), in which haiku can also be found.

Edith Golinski lived in a nursing home in Kiel. "At the age of 73, Edith Golinski died in June 1985 as a result of a heart attack."
