Edith Weymayr

Edith Weymayr (born July 14, 1964 in Amberg ( Upper Palatinate )) is a German bank manager . Since January 1, 2020, she has been Chairwoman of the Management Board of L-Bank , the development bank of the State of Baden-Württemberg . From February 2016 to the end of 2019 she was head of the Mittelstandsbank at Commerzbank AG .

Life

After graduating from high school, she studied business administration at the University of Bayreuth .

In 1990 she began her professional career as a risk manager at Commerzbank.

From July 2004 to June 2006 she worked as a finance advisor at the auditing firm KPMG .

In July 2006 Edith Weymayr returned to the service of Commerzbank. Until September 2010, she was head of the Financial Engineering Center and was responsible for advising medium-sized companies in the region of southern Germany . She then became Head of Sales and Credit Management .

From 2013 to 2015, as Regional Director for Asia , she was responsible for corporate customer business in China , Hong Kong , Japan and Singapore .

From the beginning of 2016 to the end of 2019, Edith Weymayr was divisional director at the Mittelstandsbank of Commerzbank and managed corporate customer business in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria .

The Council of Ministers of Baden-Württemberg has appointed Edith Weymayr as Chairman of the Board of Management of L-Bank effective January 1, 2020. She is the first woman to head the state's own funding institute.

Edith Weymayr is a member of the board of directors of the Federal Association of Public Banks in Germany (VÖB) and the advisory board of the head office in Baden-Württemberg of the Deutsche Bundesbank .
