Edith von Sanden-Guja

Edith von Sanden-Guja born. Edith von Schlueter (born April 15, 1894 in Guscht , Neumark , † March 29, 1979 in Diepholz ) was a German animal sculptor and painter .

Life

From 1911 to 1914 Edith von Sanden-Guja attended the Düsseldorf Art School . In 1914 she married Walter von Sanden-Guja . Art studies lead her to Königsberg , southern Germany and Austria . She had her studio on her husband's estate in Klein Guja until she fled East Prussia in January 1945 . In 1938 she took part in the Great German Art Exhibition with three works . The von Sanden-Guja couple moved to Hüde after the Second World War .

Honors

On November 4, 2011, the district council of the Diepholz district decided on the naming of the Lemförde secondary school . From then on, it was named Von Sanden Oberschule Lemförde in memory of Walter von Sanden-Guja and his wife Edith .
