edition oberkassel is a publishing house based in Düsseldorf , which was founded in 2010 by Detlef Knut .

The publisher is a member of the German Book Trade Association .

history

After working in the authoring scene for a long time, the founder wanted to give unknown authors a chance to publish with a publisher. The wave of self-publishers was imminent at the time. However, many debut authors shied away from this step. In 2010 the publishing house edition oberkassel was founded. Initially started with three books, initially six novelties were approached per year. Business analyzes then led to 15 to 20 novelties a year. In addition to German authors, we work with translators to give classics a new look. The same analyzes also led to a sharpening of the program profile, which is why crime novels and thrillers seem a bit overloaded.

Publishing program

The publishing program includes entertainment literature (crime novels, thrillers, romance novels, historical novels) and non-fiction books such as travelogues about Germany and abroad. Every year 12 to 20 books appear in the publishing house, most of them new.

academy

Even before the publishing house was founded, the owner worked for writers' associations in the field of advanced training for authors. As a consequence of this, the edition oberkassel Academy was founded, in which bestselling authors, as well as moderators and actors, pass on their knowledge to aspiring and professional authors.
