Edmond Louis Dupain (born January 13, 1847 in Bordeaux , † August 10, 1933 in Paris ) was a French painter and drawing teacher.

Edmond Louis Dupain attended the city drawing school of Bordeaux from 1861 to 1865, where he studied with Jean-Marie Oscar Gué (1809–1877). Thanks to a scholarship from the city of Bordeaux, he studied from 1867 at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889).

He made his debut in 1870 at the Salon de Paris with a mythological painting "The Death of the Nymph Hesperia". He exhibited his works in the salon for the next few years, became a member of the Société des Artistes Français in 1883 and received the 3rd class medal in 1875 and 1st class in 1877.

He took part in the Paris World Exhibition in 1878 and received an honorable mention. At the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889 , he won a bronze medal. He taught at the Académie Colarossi and from 1879 worked as "Professeur de Dessin " (drawing teacher) at the École polytechnique . Dupain was made a Knight in 1894 and an Officer of the Legion of Honor in 1924.
