Edmund "Edi" Stöhr (born September 17, 1956 in Kösching ) is a former German soccer player and currently coach .
School and study
After graduating from high school, Stöhr studied geology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich up to the preliminary diploma . He then began his career as a professional footballer .
Football career
Player career
Edmund Stöhr began his football career as a teenager at TSV Kösching and later moved to MTV Ingolstadt , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1978 . After two years he moved to Hertha BSC , and with this club he was promoted to the Bundesliga . In 1985 he moved to SpVgg Unterhaching in the Bayern League . After four years he achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with the club, which was followed by direct relegation a year later. 1991 Stöhr ended his career as a professional footballer.

- 1991 Start of coaching career as assistant coach at TSV 1860 Munich (2nd Bundesliga)
- 1993 change as assistant coach to the Stuttgarter Kickers (2nd Bundesliga)
- 1994 Change as head coach to SC Austria Lustenau ( First League )
- 1997 Promotion to the Bundesliga (Austria)
- 1999 move to FC Sachsen Leipzig - qualification for the two-track regional league
- May 2000 exemption in 4th place in the table
- 2001 return to SC Austria Lustenau
- 2003 Beginning of many years of activity as a game and player observer for Hertha BSC and VfL Wolfsburg in the pan-European area
- In 2007 he switched to Al-Gharafa in Qatar
- 2008 head coach and sporting director at the Berliner Sport-Club - development of a youth concept
- 2009 move to Austria Lustenau for the last 10 games of the 2008/09 season, award as Vorarlberg coach of the year
- 2011 Cup finalist with Austria Lustenau
- 2012 head coach of the SCR Altach since April - no extension of the contract in May after failed promotion to the Bundesliga
- 2012 head coach of FC Blau-Weiß Linz since November
- 2013 Contract termination on June 8th at FC Blau-Weiß Linz after failing to stay in the league
Private life and family
Stöhr has been married to Sybille since 1983. The two have a son together.
