Edoardo Lamberti

Edoardo Lamberti (born March 31, 1895 in Turin , Italy ; † March 6, 1968 in Rome , Italy) was an Italian cameraman for domestic, German and Portuguese films.

Live and act

Shortly after the end of the First World War, Lamberti came to the Turin film production company Ambrosio and began working there as a simple cameraman. As early as 1920 he began his work as chief cameraman. A year later, Lamberti left his Italian homeland and went - together with his colleague Giovanni Vitrotti and the Italian actor Luciano Albertini  - to Germany . The trio worked together on Lamberti's first two films, the Joseph Delmont- directed adventure stories Julot, the Apache and The King of the Manege . In the following years Lamberti was behind the camera , especially in less significant productions by Lamberti's compatriot Nunzio Malasomma and his German colleagues Rudolf Walther-Fein , Max Obal and Victor Janson .

Lamberti found little work in the German sound film industry , and so after a series of mostly short documentaries he finally returned to Italy shortly after the start of the Second World War . There and in Portugal , where Lamberti has been regularly traveling to filming since 1948, he was only used for almost unknown feature films. In later years, Lamberti, who was temporarily paralyzed due to an illness, often concentrated only on the photography of documentaries.
