Édouard de Pourtalès-Pury (born January 1, 1802 in Neuchâtel ; † July 1, 1885 ibid) was a Swiss landscape painter .

He came from the Huguenot , Switzerland-based noble family Pourtalès .

After a prematurely discontinued training at the Berlin cadet institute , he returned to Switzerland and became a student of Maximilien de Meuron . Following his advice, he traveled to Rome with August von Bonstetten in 1830 and met the Swiss painters Louis Léopold Robert and Aurèle Robert there . He also visited Florence and Naples . During his stay in Italy he created numerous landscapes. Back in Switzerland, he mainly painted views from around Neuchâtel and the Bernese Oberland .
