Eduard Lotz

Eduard Hermann Lotz (* 1818 in Düsseldorf ; † 1890 ibid) was a German genre and landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

A good drop (the beer connoisseur)

Lotz attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1832 . Until 1839 Josef Wintergerst , Karl Friedrich Schäffer the Younger , Karl Ferdinand Sohn and, above all, Theodor Hildebrandt were his teachers there. In Düsseldorf, where he lived after his studies, he was a member of the artists' association Malkasten . In addition to being a painter, Lotz worked as a restorer of paintings and as a teacher at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. The landscape painter Eduard Josef Müller was one of his students there.
