Eduard Scarlet

Eduard Scharlach (* 1811 in Hann. Münden ; † 1891 in Hanover ) was a German artist, painter and especially genre painter .

Life

Eduard Scharlach was born during the so-called " French era " and grew up in the early years of the Kingdom of Hanover .

From 1832 to 1834 he attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy . There Karl Ferdinand Sohn instructed him in the preparatory class and Theodor Hildebrandt in the 2nd painting class.

As early as the first half of the 19th century, scarlet fever was “one of the most capable artists in his field”: he painted portraits and genre pieces as well as battle paintings and horses.
