Eduard Sochor (born September 23, 1862 in Vlčí ; † June 6, 1947 in Řevnice ) was a Czech architect.

Life

Sochor grew up in Cítoliby , where his parents bought homestead no. 42 in 1875. His older brother was the painter Václav Sochor .

He studied first at the Prague Polytechnic , then at the Technikum in Berlin and finally at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . Sochor dealt primarily with the architecture of the Middle Ages. In 1895 he designed the models of a wooden village church and an old Bohemian mill for the ethnographic exhibition in Prague. His most important work was the reconstruction of Kokořín Castle . In addition, he created a number of church buildings in the historicizing style. His grave is in the Řevnice cemetery.
