Eduard von Schrader
Heinrich Eduard Siegfried Schrader , von Schrader from 1853 , (also Heinrich Eduard Schrader ; born March 31, 1779 in Hildesheim , † August 16, 1860 in Tübingen ) was a German legal scholar , legal historian and university professor .
Life
Schrader graduated from the evangelical high school Andreanum and went to the University of Helmstedt in 1798 in order to devote himself to the study of theology as well as the study of mathematics . In 1800 he moved to the University of Halle in order to be able to fully devote himself to the study of mathematics, but there he discovered law as his preferred science. To get a better education in this science, he moved to the University of Göttingen in 1801 . There he devoted himself to studying under Gustav von Hugo's school . On July 20, 1803 he received his doctorate as Dr. iur. utr. at the Göttingen University and shortly afterwards, on August 21, 1803, there the habilitation and the appointment as a private lecturer .
Schrader was appointed Associate Professor of Law and Philosophy at the University of Helmstedt in 1804 , appointed Full Professor of Law in 1808 and, in 1810, Dr. phil. PhD. When the University of Helmstedt was dissolved, he was transferred to the University of Marburg as a full professor of law on February 9, 1810 , but he only stayed there briefly.
Schrader followed a call to the University of Tübingen in August 1810 , where he received a full professorship in law. From 1813 to 1817 he was also a senior tribunal councilor at the upper tribunal in Tübingen. During his time in Tübingen he held the rectorate of the university four times , he was rector in 1815/1816, 1820, 1823/1824 and 1831/1832 . By being awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown , Scheider was raised to the personal nobility on July 12, 1853 .
August 11, 1858 he settled in at his own request retirement move. In this context, he was appointed honorary member of the academic senate and the law faculty of Tübingen University.
