Eduardo Cisneros (born May 14, 1953 in Mexico City ), also known by the nickname El Vaquero , is a former Mexican football player who mainly played in attacking midfield .

Life

Cisneros began his active career with his hometown club Atlético Español , where he was under contract from 1972 to 1975. He joined Club Deportivo Guadalajara in 1981 through the Tiburones Rojos Veracruz , Rayados Monterrey and Atlético Potosino . Although he scored a total of 32 goals in the league in four years for this , he was a tragic hero there because he missed a penalty in the finals of the 1983/84 season in the Súper Clásico del Fútbol Mexicano against arch-rivals Club America . After a 2-2 in the first leg at the Estadio Jalisco , Cisneros had the opportunity in the second leg to bring his team 1-0 in the Aztec Stadium just before the break, but failed because of América's goalkeeper Héctor Zelada . In the end, América was able to prevail 3-1 in front of their own audience. At the same time, however, it should be borne in mind that without his penalty, which was converted in the semi-finals against the UNAM Pumas , the team from Guadalajara would not have reached the final.

In the following season 1984/85 he failed in the quarterfinals with a weak kick kicked again against America and spent his last season 1985/86 with the Freseros Irapuato , where he had fallen out with the presidium in late 1985 and did not take up in 1986.
